Help Wanted: Bike Mechanic with

prior experience

We are a family-owned bike shop located in the White Mountains of Arizona looking for a full-time bike mechanic.  Our shop is seasonally busy with sales and service from March to December, open year-round.  The position focuses primarily on repairs of bikes of all types and levels.  This position would also include sales and service as needed.  We are looking for a friendly, motivated individual who is interested in continuing education dealing with the latest technology and industry developments.  We offer a competitive salary as well as repairs and sales commissions.  This position includes repairs, services and bike builds as well as customer education and community engagement including shop rides on many Saturdays.

 

The White Mountains surrounding Show Low AZ is an ideal environment for an active out-doors individual and/or family.  We have over 200 miles of single-track, endless miles of gravel roads and hiking trails, a local ski resort, hunting/fishing opportunities and excellent schools.  The White Mountain community is very family-friendly and offers varied opportunities for spousal employment.  

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:

*Bike maintenance, repair and builds

*Maintenance and responsibility over work station, tools and equipment

*Continuing education, current and developing technology, Trek University and SBC

*Customer service and sales as needed

*Interaction and team-building with shop crew

*Participation in shop group rides and/or shop race team

 

COMPENSATION:

*Tools and workstation provided

*Competitive salary with repair commission.  Salary dependent on experience

*Paid specialty training and qualification

REQUIREMENTS:

*High School diploma or GED

*2+ years experience with 3 references

*Knowledge of tools related to bicycle repair and assembly

*Understanding of current bicycle builds including frame materials, suspension, and drive train components

*Desire and willingness to continually increase knowledge through continuing education.

*Willingness and experience working on all types and levels of bicycles

*Ability to work well with others and be part of a cohesive shop team.

*Ability to work quickly while maintaining a high level of quality

*Willingness to accept direction

*Strong problem solving, communication and documentation skills.
